Merry Christmas? No, more like happy Winter Solstace! - December 28, 2005

Merry Christmas? No, more like happy Winter Solstace!

Why do we celebrate Xmas on Dec 25th, that's the day that Jesus was born, right?

Wrong, it's celebrated on that day because for thousands of years Pageans celebrated the Winter Solstace on this day, so why not add Christ's name to it and make it an even larger party? Let's do it, and while we're at it, lets take a minor Jewish holiday in Hanukah and because it's also around the same time, lets pretend it's a major holiday so the Jewish kids don't feel bad when thier Christian classmaters get presents. While we're at it, lets also create a holiday for African Amercians around that time as well, and let's call it Kwanza!

There you have it, in a nutshell the real history of December 25th, feel free to look it up if you are bored, it's the truth ruth.

Lastly, my new band is amazing, stay tuned for more info, world dominition is within grasp!
